Mini Se wait times

I just put 250 down on the website for a gray sig plus. This gets me a place in line. If they open up the blue before it hits production my salesman will change it to blue. If they open up blue after it hits production we will go with my original deposit and order blue, and I will cancel the gray.

I am mildly concerned about the 7500 rebate, Colo rebate drops 500 in 2023, and not sure I want the unknown 2024.

They have a big EV plan to get 940,000 cars on the road by 2030 yet they are lowering EV incentives and charging an additional $50 a year to register an EV. These seem very counterintuitive don’t they?

Also if you have not had a chance to test drive one yet in Denver, Loveland had a demo car the last time I was up there.

I put about 1100 miles on our red base. Schomp had or has a gray one with the funky roof.

I may have misspoke and CO drops in 2024. I will check. .

I hope they have another supplier. What I'm understanding just about all businesses in Ukraine have shut down.
I would think that the silicon sourcing would be the most challenging part and the biggest cause of the delays. There's only a few places in the world that can make that stuff. A wiring loom/harness should be easier to source than chips. I imagine it would be relatively easy to fabricate the tooling and find off the shelf materials to spec from an existing supplier - wherever they may be in the world. From what I understand it's both the chip shortage and the harness shortage combined causing the issue.

According to BMW Blog, it's the silicon that's causing the shortage, not the wiring harnesses. To quote the article,

"For most German automakers, wire harnesses were in short supply, due to the war in Ukraine. However, it’s a semiconductor shortage that’s halting MINI production. The missing semiconductors are used in the infotainment system, as well as back up cameras, and even airbags. This week-long closure will affect 3,800 workers, though thankfully they’ll still get paid during this closure."
