This just reported on msn.

Is this old news, or another round? "More than 12,000 Mini Cooper SE electric vehicles are being recalled in the United States. It’s part of a global recall effort that affects over 140,000 Mini EVs that could have an issue with their batteries." "The update is free, and the automaker will begin notifying owners on October 7."

NHTSA lists three recalls for my Cooper SE:
  • the electric issue that we are all aware of. (oct '23)
  • buildup of grease on some CV boots. (mar '24)
  • "Some model year (MY) 2023/2024 MINI vehicles may be equipped with a Body Domain Controller (BDC)that needs to be replaced. " (aug '24)
So, I'd have to say that you are looking at old news.

The NHTSA site notes that one probably former SE owner experienced the battery fault, took his car in to be fixed, and after 6 weeks filed a complaint with the NHTSA, due to lack of repair. (apr '25)

Kinda makes me wonder ...
