Mini mobile jack kit

Got myself a donut spare for my SE and I am looking for a portable mobile jack kit.

Does anyone know if any of those older mini mobility jack kit (jack, wrench, and etc in a pouch) work?

Can you show us how you've secured your donut spare in the boot? Thanks.

Having the spare will ensure your range if you get a flat, but having it on your roof will hurt your range in the long run. Will you carry it on your roof all the time or just for long trips?

Removed the plank to maximize trunk space (a while ago). I stand the spare on the right side secured with bungee cords. Found a small sized wheel cover for an RV spare wheel that fits perfect. The jack rests behind the spare. Obviously takes up half the trunk space but still enough room left to store two bags of grocery.

Understood.

But the donut is light weight and with a lower profile, so I think the range reduction should be minimal.

I plan to keep the donut up there permanently with a lock.

My first R55 Clubman came with a jack kit and I used it multiple times, works really well. Not sure if the extra weight of the SE would make it a bit difficult to crank the jack, though. The handle is pretty short.
 
A wheel on your roof will be a lot of drag. Boot mounting would be no drag difference. I don't know if there is space underneath. Where did the donor car mount it?

Mercedes folding spare. 165/70-16. It will bolt on. There may be a lower profile folding tyre for a different brand.

Just mounted on my roof cage today and drove my usual routes. I didn't see any loss in range as I was still getting 4.8 miles/kWh to 5 miles/kwh
 
I put a winter tire in the trunk of my 1 series in the summer and vice versa in the winter. I bought a jack kit off a salvage yard on eBay. The foam fits in the wheel. I had a similar setup for the frunk of the Cayman.

I have sunroof too. But my roof cage with the donut mounted on it doesn't bother me personally. I still get plenty of light coming down and my sunroof can open fully as my roof cage provides sufficient clearance
