Mini lease residuals

Will the new one be as much fun?
That is the key question.

I'd be surprised if BMW can't make their ground-up redesigned MINI SE more efficient, but the requirement for more range will be at odds with the light weight that makes for fun driving. Then there's the "when?" question for US customers.

Still going to be a few more years until the BMW Neue Klasse Heart of Joy. It will probably make one's way to MINI in 2025/2026.

I'm afraid that battery technology between now and then will make it obsolete
None of the "new" battery technology being touted for the last few years has made it to wide-scale production yet (I'm fairly certain, anyway). The real world availability of technological advancements seems to always take years (and years!) longer to get to market than proponents tend to predict.

The new battery technology that's being implemented now is less expensive, but also less energy-dense. We'll see more powerful, yet lightweight battery technology (eg. solid-state Li-Ion) first in something very expensive like the Rimac Nevera or perhaps the first e-Ferrari. Then we can start dreaming.
