Yes sounds like what you say is right since we don't have a wifi receiver in the car. (at least I don't think we do lol).I'm not sure but I'm thinking you download the data into the SD card. You will need a SD card reader for that to plug it into your computer.

My guess, and it's just a guess, is that a trip to the dealer for flash download will be required.Oh I didn't know that. I see it upon looking. But I am thinking we will not need a new SD twice per year and we will download info.?
I just read the FAQ's on our map site and it looks like we don't have to go to the dealer if our computer is running Windows 7 or newer. Here are there FAQ's.My guess, and it's just a guess, is that a trip to the dealer for flash download will be required.
No, actually the onboard maps are older than Google. I used a charger which is there for longer than 1/2 year is still not in the Hyundai map.Apparently Google Maps added charging station search last October. Is there something the onboard maps are doing that Google maps don't?
The onboard map doesn't show any of the DC Chargers near me. Kind of useless in that respect. The chargers have been in place a couple of years. It also doesn't have all of the level 2 charging stations in town either, and there aren't that many to start with. No, actually the onboard maps are older than Google. As far as I understand you can take the SD card or of your car, plug it into your desktop/laptop etc. and then download the update to the SD card. Then plug it back into the car and you're done.Do we need to take the SD card (and car) to our dealer, and will they charge for the service ? I see the empty case for the present SD card glued to the inside back of the Multimedia System manual.

I wonder if using Android Auto would do that? I saw this video on the Blue Link site about using google.Yeah, it's basically useless. However I've been meaning to get the send to car feature set up that apparently the car has. Somehow we should be able to send locations from Google to the car.
It seems like it only works from desktop but still an easy way to transfer locations.

Definitely, Android auto is completely separate and uses Google maps. However, you don't have a turn by turn and distance in the HUD and the car doesn't know when you are planning on recharging, so you don't get the projected distance of mileage like you do on the right side of the car Navi system screen.
It's not super essential but a nice feature I like about the in car Navi.
I've been switching between Android auto and in car system over the last couple weeks.

You do. It's very small and located in middle of dash under screen.Brennan I think it is over the air system. I don't have a SD card that I am aware of.
It has now accepted our VIN, but says the maps aren't available yet. I think they told me mid April. The Canadian site is now accepting registrations and the latest version on there is 3.0. I haven't attempted to go through the complex installation, and in any case I'm being warned that it is currently unavailable to me. This might be one for the dealer. You can download some informational pdf's though.
Most likely Hyundai Corp. is waiting for today's week# rollover updateIt has now accepted our VIN, but says the maps aren't available yet. I think they told me mid April.
