a motor is mounted like previous ICE, not optimized for EV operation
Understand this is not a Ford only problem but rather common to legacy automakers having legacy engineering design rules and 'buying' their EV technology. In contrast, Tesla had to do everything from scratch with vertical integration.
Necessity means Tesla designs for the function and not to a catalog.
