I love my car. But what's with the annoying center arm rest?

Has anyone managed to replace the worthless phone charger with something offering storage? Or just moving the whole thing altogether? I leave it in up position to get it out of the way. I do have a post-it note pad and pen and pencil in there, for lack of anything better to do with it....

I may not get around to it right away, but I’m going to research if someone has managed to replace the 5W Qi module with a MagSafe.

I've thought about contacting auto recyclers to ask how much it would cost to trade my arm rest for one without the useless, space-hogging phone charger.

I watched this video that demonstrates how to remove the charger to replace it with a larger charger (which wouldn't solve the overheating problem). It showed me that I'd have to fashion my own liner to make the chargerless armrest usable. So the armrest will remain "filled" with a pen, a Zingermans' bread card (just 2 loaves to go before it will grant me a free loaf), and, yes, a pad of Post-it Notes.

I hated it until I realized it tilts down where it is comfortable.

Dude. Just went and checked. Much better. Still would prefer it to be something else, but yes, at least it's now comfortable.

Ha! Right?! The only thing it's useful for... And yes, I've watched the video, too, but totally uninterested in using the phone charging feature (and mine even fits)...

Since I’m a realtor I have a business card holder on my phone so the center charger does work. I looked into removing it just to have room to store stuff (on google) or just to have another USB port and it’s way complicated than I could even attempt.

Before I took delivery of my SE I asked if the dealer could remove the charger. The dealer said no.
