Well, I tried this myself, and it worked exactly as you describe. But I can't imagine the utility of it. When I exit the car, I still have to lock the driver's door. It doesn't really solve my issue. Every car that I've owned for, perhaps, the last 50 years has worked as I've described: I shut the car off, open the driver-side door, and press the armrest door lock button. I then get out, shut the door, and ALL doors are locked. Why should I have to stand in a pouring rain to lock the car or touch a very hot door handle (I live in Arizona!). I can't be the first person to have this issue.
