Hi all,
I had always planned to buy out my lease (3year 12k miles a year). I decided to do this 6 months early and will provide a little caveat for anyone else thinking of doing the same. MINI send notice of the monthly statement, in my case, on around the 2nd of the month with my payment set up automatically for the 19th, the date I signed the papers. My buyout statement includes my 6 final payments but the rent/interest credit is only 5 payments worth. I disputed this with Mini but their claim is that the monthly statement had already been generated.
So get your buyout document done before they generate your next month's statement and probably get the agreement done before that too.
Marks off for MINI on that one.
This is my first leased vehicle. I'd normally not lease because of the front end and back end fees - $1225 from MINI, but the discount was considerable so offset those fees.
BTW. When I was at the dealer chatted to a chap who was turning in his i4 lease for a F66 JCW. Interesting choice. Said he tried a F56 SE, but frequent trips to family proved to be just outside its range and family lived in a charging desert, oh well, back to smelly gas for him!
