Charging speeds probably weren't one of the main goals of the BMS update. Preventing fires has got to be the #1 objective. That being said, there are a couple of things we do know about the update.
  1. It fixes an issue where battery cooling wasn't working, and where batteries could warm up to 50C or 120F or higher.
  2. It imposes new validation at startup and throws faults if any of the cell groups deviate by more than 0.1V from the others.
  3. It evidently does a better job of keeping the 12V battery topped up - I haven't followed that thread as closely, so I don't know how good a job this is doing now.
Beyond this, we don't really know a lot about what the update does.
 
In regards to the BMS update how would I know if it’s been done to my car? I purchased mine in July but don’t know the manufacture date off the top of my head?

If you look in BlueLink, does it tell you that an update is needed?
 
From the main BL screen, you’ll see a message alert in the top right corner. If you click on it, you’ll see a message about a Hv battery service needed.

Yeah, I assume they were working on the updated software for the next revision of Konas, and with the recall they had to do the fixes and push it to the older ones. Our gain :)

I betcha Hyundai is wishing they had built in the capacity to do over the air updates and not have to depend on their dealer network for software distribution which seems spotty reliable once the product gets increasingly more complicated.
 
Thanks everybody. I have no alerts in BlueLink and no older messages. In regards to brake light function with paddle and the info in the users settings, I will check the next time I get to the car.

So I’m in my car at the moment and I can’t seem to find “User Settings”. Is it on the center display or the driver’s instrument cluster?

Just a follow up. I found user settings on the drivers dash as you wrote. Thought you meant dashboard menu was a sub menu in the other features section. Anyway, I do not see “aux battery saver +” listed. So that should mean the dealer did the software update that was available pre July.

Just an aside so I know I went to the correct menu, in my car under User Settings the next sub menu is simply listed as Other and not Other Features.

Anyway thanks so much for the info.
