Title: “Declining AC charging rate over time — has anyone else seen this on a 2022 EV6?”
Body:
Hello all — hoping someone here has experienced something similar. I own a 2022 Kia EV6 Wind. When new, my Level 2 (AC) charging rate was around 9.4–9.6 kW, which translated to ~32 miles of range per charging hour. Over time, that has dropped to about 6.2 kW despite taking the car in for service multiple times (they even replaced a connector).
Service says it’s a safety feature or normal battery aging. Yet when I use a DC fast charger, the car can charge very quickly — inconsistent with the idea that the battery is so degraded it must throttle AC.
Has anyone else had their AC charging performance degrade so much? What explanations did dealers or other owners offer? And do you think this is something Kia should fix under warranty or goodwill?
Thanks in advance for insight — anything I can bring to the table for my discussions with Kia.
Dave
