Fortunately not going to affect N.A. cars as they charge single phase, but an interesting read especially concerning the actual OBC ( 2 - 3.6 kW single phase chargers that parallel (L1 and L2) to achieve a 7 kW charge from single phase)

Yes, it's a bit of a fiasco with both sides making assumptions they should not have and no apparent standards to adhere to other than common sense and good engineering practice. It is simply unbelievable that Zappi thought it acceptable to switch from 1-ph to 3-ph with only what they call a "reset" of the Control Pilot signal, a mode not even defined. And Hyundai/Kia seem to have assumed that the live phases would not need re-assessment if the supply was interrupted but the (Type 2) plug remained in place, and then in single-phase mode leaving the L2 pin "live" while shorted to L1.
