Has anyone had issues charging on the Shell Recharge Network in North America? About two months ago I tried to charge at a Shell Recharge station for the first time. I plugged into a 180kW unit. It charged for 5 minutes or so (to around 30%) and then abruptly stopped. There was no error on the charger, it just said charging stopped. I unplugged and restarted and this time it only charged for a minute before stopping. I didn't want to incur any more transaction fees, so I left to use a Volta charger nearby, which worked fine.
Then a week ago I did a longer trip that relied on a different Shell Recharge location. I was hoping that the previous incident was due to one bad unit, but sadly, no. I tried 4 different handles on two different 180kW units and every time charging ended abruptly. I tried calling the help line but ended up on hold for 20 minutes. In the meantime I plugged into the one 350kW unit and it worked fine. After I got enough juice I plugged back into one of the 180kW units that service reset for me and had the same problem.
I tried to figure out what type of chargers were the problematic ones but I couldn't find any easily identifiable info. I think they were BTC, but so was the 350 unit. Has anyone else had issues with the 180kW Shell stations? PlugShare and the guy who plugged in after me confirmed that the units giving me trouble were working for everyone else so I'm trying to figure out if it's an issue with my car or Mini SEs in general.
