I'm an Anglophile, but the expression "quids in" is a new one on me! From what Mr. Google says, I take that it means the exact opposite of a damp squib. :p

Quid is a slang term for the British £. the term "Quids in" means to make money from. :)

And now I'm kicking myself. I knew that "a quid" means a British pound sterling, but somehow I never connected that to "quids in". :(
