My SE in December will be a car 3 years old and kept in heated garage 17000 miles as I own BMW I 3 for 7 years 100% troubles free I’m asking myself what is wrong with SE as a car is basically BMW as mechanically is perfect car why is always trouble with charging as I have issues for first year and dealer was telling me is no problem - max or reduce charging was always a problem than for a year I have no problems without dealer intervention and yesterday as I start charging a dashboard went orange drive train malfunctioning no charge I unplugged a charger and charging port 2-3 times and car start charging as nothing happens. As now on a joke side I compare my SE to mules are cussed as being “stubborn “ when in fact, this is simply a matter of their natural behavior (SE) .They are more likely than horses to stop and think, (SE) or even turn and fight, when faced with problems (SE) I love a car driving machine hard with all performance and trouble with HV baterries in future I will keep SE for long time as long my house is not going in flames IMG_1507.webp

Over 4 years, and the only issue I had is that I once ran out of windscreen washer fluid. Seriously, this is the most reliable car I have ever had. Like most things, nothing is perfect, and some will escape the factory with a few extra unwanted features. Sorry to hear about your issues.

I just had wiring and KLE module replaced, both attributed to rodent chewing. Which can happen to any vehicle. I also had a wheel bearing go bad at almost 95,000 miles so I'm not surprised by that. Even the head mechanic at my dealer says the F56 SE is the most reliable MINI ever made.

Many home charging problems can be attributed to the charger itself.
As my Creeper Creek charger 32 amp is 9 years old good for 6 years with I 3 and now for 3 years with SE giving me headaches but unit was checked in factory in CA. As perfect condition I believe is a time to invest in new charger .Any suggestions ? As I need something simple without Wi-Fi 240 V. /32Amp.with NEMA -50 plug to existing outlet.I’m using public charge Charging Point 70 miles away from my house since March 2024 once every week and SE never give me a problem to charge to 100% image.webp

A big question if $100 charger will work or i waste money? IMG_1753.webp

For a portable EVSE I went with a J+ Booster 2, good deals to be had on eBay where they sell their refurbished product. More than $100, but quality made and you can get different NEMA plugs if you need them. It comes with NEMA 5-15 (Level 1) and 14-50 (Level 2).

I actually use it to charge my SE every day, since my Lightning is now using my Grizzl-E.

I bought the least expensive MEGEAR 220 V charger off Amazon and it has worked like a charm for the past two years.
