The US tariff on vehicles built in Turkey appears to be 15%, which is the same as the tariff levied against Mexican-built vehicles. Hyundai has a factory in Turkey that makes cars for the European market. It could happen.
Hyundai's question: Will the SUV-loving N.A. market buy a small car like the Ioniq 3? I want to believe that if Hyundai gives the Ioniq 3 a chance in N.A., the gamble would pay off and other manufacturers would follow suit. They could make the N.A. market sane again! OK, saner.
I’m hoping for the same. A reasonably priced Ioniq 3 with good range and the Kona’s practicality could be a very appealing replacement. Definitely one I’d keep an eye on.
