I have just upgrade my 24KWH Nissan Leaf battery pack to 53KWH.

I have just upgrade my 24KWH Nissan Leaf battery pack to 53KWH.

Firstly we replace the original 24KWH Nissan Leaf battery pack with our 53KWH Nissan Leaf battery pack. Then connect the can bridge to the Nissan Leaf, the dashboard show the correct value right away.

@shirleyjasmine-1985, congratulations! Thanks for your story and photos. Many people will be interested in learning more about your successful swap now that there are many used Nissan Leafs with sub-par batteries on the market.

What year Leaf do you own? Was your 24kWh battery dead or did you just want to double your range? Who did the swap, you?, a friend? you and a friend? a Nissan dealer? or a non-Nissan shop that knew from experience the swap would work?

More questions: In what country do you live? Where did you buy your 53kWh Nissan Leaf battery and how much did it cost in your country?

Thanks and, again, congrats!

No follow up so far from poster, I did however find this video of a Gen 1 Leaf conversion to the 62 kWh from the original 24 kWh.
A can bridge, pyro fuse, new rear springs (due to new battery weight) a couple of brackets and new bolts are part of the conversion done in just 3 hours on a driveway:

New range 228 miles up from 107 (new rating) with the older 30 kWh pack.
I would expect to see a lot more of this in the future as the original Leaf was really a solid car and the change is done at a very reasonable cost.:)
