Hyundai Kona Recall 196: Battery short --> fire. What about Niro?

Certain 2019-2020 Kona's are being recalled because of a battery issue than can result in a fire when fully charged.

There is an extensive thread on the battery recall in the Kona EV forum.

With 6707 being recalled in the US, that is 10-15% of all US Kona's.

With the battery packs coming from the same source, we are likely impacted too, right? Has anyone heard anything about Niro?

No, the batteries for the Kona and Niro are not made in the same factory from what I have seen. Haven't found any information about whether or not Niros are affected, either.

Hyundai kona and Chevy bolt batteries are supplied by LG (recall for both vehicles). Kia Niro batteries are supplied by SK and not involved with the recall.
