Heated Seats Issues

Has any other Clarity owner had an issue with seat heaters coming on unexpectedly either with or witbout the indicator lights turning on?

Nothing like that. I just wish the seat heater wires were more robust. Takes awhile to warm them up, and then they're not even really all that warm (on high). I'd be a little more disappointed if I was still doing a daily commute in the car - especially this time of year.

I’d agree with bfd, I’ve never had them come on by themselves, but I do wish they were warmer when I turn them on.

Thats strange. My seat heaters warm almost instantly and i have to turn them down to minimum or else my tush gets burned. Maybe this is a service issue i should have checked out.

Maybe it's our clothing? I generally wear jeans, and I could see feeling the seat heater better with thinner pants.

That could be, I often wear thinner khaki pants, and also find level 3 sometimes too hot. But, I find it a bit slower to get warm at first. Especially, if the car is cold, such as if I go out to try a feature while the car is parked in the un-heated garage.

If you preheat the car using remote climate features the heated seats turn on to the lowest level but the light is not turned on. I believe this is straight out of the manual.

Our seats heat up fairly quickly, wicket quick our 2005 Toyota 4Runner Limited.

Ah! That explains why I almost burned by backside on a drive yesterday. I used the remote climate, thinking it would turn on the A/C, but it apparently mashed the seat heater into the ON position for the whole trip. I thought I was imagining it, but good grief. They really need to fix this so the indicator turns ON if the seat heater is on. -_-
