I do agree with enhancements to the dashboard display. The map view is less useful than I thought it would be, especially since the center screen is so big (for the overview) and turn-by-turn directions are given in the middle of the dash display for navigation. The overhead view of the car is useless in my view. I use the “Calm” view almost all the time, and there’s a lot of unused real estate there.
As far as SoC, I hope that they will show miles remaining all the time in a future update (or at least make it optional). As it is, miles remaining only shows when the SoC goes below 25%, which is better than nothing obviously, but why not all the time. Doing the math for miles remaining when I charged to 90% and am now at 70% (and it’s now winter, so range is more limited) seems to be a needless distraction when the car knows what range remaining is at all times. Let’s just display it!
These are all high-class gripes, and easily solved with software. This is my two week mark (about 300 miles) and I’m in love with the car in spite of the gripes. It’s crazy fast, solid, has good enough range for my use case, is really quiet, and has a nice ride.
I did have the dealership change out the 20” wheels and tires for 19” Michelins (50-series) because of the extra sidewall on the 50-series tires. This helps the ride by providing more shock absorption than the slimmer 20” (40 and 45s), and I’m really pleased with this change. Saved $800, too.
