Good idea to check Torque on wheel lug nuts especially if locks added by dealer

If I overlooked a post on this as well, I apologize. I was somewhat shocked when I checked the torque on my wheels. 80 ft-lbs is recommended for the torque on the lugs. The wheel locks installed by the dealer were closer to 100 ft-lbs. Several of the other lugs were under a good bit (at least 10 ft-lbs light). Just thought it might be worth letting everyone know it wouldn't be a bad idea to check if you have a torque wrench.

Great idea. Hadn’t even thought of it and with everything that the dealer forgot to do, it’s well worth the time to check.
Just remember that you can’t really get an accurate torque measurement without first loosening the lug nuts and starting from scratch.

80 ft-lbs... That's it! Usually lug nut torque are like 100 to 120ft-lb. 80 Seems kinda loose to me..

I believe Honda specifies 80 lb-ft for all their cars. So if someone receives a Clarity with the wrong torque, that means their dealer probably screws up all their customers' cars, not just the Claritys.
