GM suspends Twitter ads

I did not understand why Elon offered to buy Twitter but understand now what he wants to accomplish. As for those ‘bailing out,’ good riddance.

From my work experience, no coder owns sh*t and Elon owns the domain name. Sometimes ‘wipe and load’ is the best approach … even if there is a long outage.

I would join his Twitter team in a heartbeat. I would take my pay in Twitter stock but then I am independently well off.

I don't understand why he bought Twitter either. There's no moat around what the company produces. On top of that, his big mouth is not helping.

As far as going hardcore, I don't see why anyone would want to if they are not reaping the rewards that go with it. The reward is mainly going to Elon. As such, I don't see the point.
 
I think he plans to replace Facebook, YouTube, and go into electronic banking/or online sales. The first two I agree with.

I don't see the point of doing any of this. None of these projects have a defensible moat. What's to prevent these ex-Twitter employees from starting a Twitter clone?

Well the golden boy has a tiger by the tail. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. At least this won't bankrupt him.

It may. With all of Elon's antics, Tesla's stock is tanking and has reportedly cut his wealth by half. I can't say I'm upset. The guy's an arrogant jerk.

Personally, I agree with this because it deflates 'wanna be' who will sacrifice the organization for their kingdom of control. Their myopic view leads to a local victory even as it kills the company. I've seen it too often to not recognize the stench.

Elon asked for examples of their code and excellence. Then a lot decided the severance package was a better deal.

Working with Elon is not a 40 hour per week job. Since I usually worked 48 hour weeks, anything less was sloth.

Thinking that Twitter is about the code is like thinking that the New York Times is about the newsprint. Elon's going to destroy the place, and most people I know on Twitter already have one foot out the door. And I am happier every day that I didn't buy a Tesla and help to subsidize this sociopath.
 
Elon has now essentially told rational, non-abusive Twitter users to go eff themselves.

When the Cult of Elon finally crashes and burns -- which might still take a while -- look for me. I'll be the one pouring champagne.

My opinion of Twitter remains consistent ... where is the value added engineering?
