gear engaged warning light

2019 Kona EV. I have not seen anything on this elsewhere. I'm getting the yellow triangle warning light with a message that says something like "gear engaged" in the middle of a drive. It goes off when I restart the engine and then after driving a while it recurs. But not every time. I've just seen it twice. Best case scenario loose wire. Worse case gear box? Any ideas? all of a sudden my obd won't connect to the app so I'm flying blind.

Sounds minor, probably a "sticky" shift lever (button), or as you say , loose wire.
Check both...easy peasy;)

Stop.
Does the light go out ?
Go to Neutral.
Go the Park.
Does the light go out in either mode ?
Only goes out after switch off ?
Thanks so much for responding. So it happened two days this week. Last night I took my fingernail and ran it through the cracks around the gears thinking maybe it was just clogged up or something. Today I drove 100 miles and no light. If it comes on again I will try what you suggest. Stay tuned.
