Gatsby got some new suspension bits!

Just installed a set of KW V1 coilovers and a 22mm H7 bar, the springs are set to the highest in the recommend range. I used pictsidhe's instructions to install the rear bar, worked great! Car handles like a dream, it does sit about 1/4" lower in the back which may be causing some rubbing on the wheel arches. Going to call KW tech support tomorrow and see if adding their 15mm spacer will be safe with the perches at max height.

Do you reckon the stiffer springs reduce the mass shift to the rear and help get the power down to the pavement in front?

I think so? I haven’t had time to give it a thorough shakedown, want to get it aligned first. Initial impressions are a very neutral handling and a much more planted chassis through turns. It’s a bit stiffer but not jarringly so.

Great work!
I believe you're supposed to give the springs a few hundred miles to break in before making final ride height adjustments. And measurements should be taken on a really flat surface or 4 leveled pads.

Nothing changed after about 200 miles so I went ahead and cranked the rears up to level it out. I did learn that there's either a manufacturing defect or my battery is slightly biased to the left of the car. The ride height wasn't actually the cause of the rubbing, the whole suspension is shifted to the left and there's no room to bash it over toward the center because the four bolts that go through the battery case are pinned against the right side of their holes.

Oh well... at least it's level now o_O
