Garmin update:Garmin Express new version not working to update

I just got off the phone with Garmin. I purchased the latest update 2024 but the new Garmin Express would not find/access the 16gb USB drive to load the update. I tried three different computers: Mac/Windows and two different USB drives to no avail. We went through all the procedures, reboot/uninstall/reinstall etc. There may an issue with the latest Garmin Express that was just recently updated. I was the first to report an issue. Just thought I would post a quick note and let you know my experience. NOTE: I have been successful in updating my Clarity Nav the last 4 years.

Today was a successful update. Here is my letter to Garmin, just to update the post and the resolve.

In answer to your latest questions:
I use the music port on the Honda Clarity as we discussed on our call. The brand of flash drive is SanDisk Ultra 16GB. I formatted and tried two different ones. The Honda Clarity had no issues writing the files needed to work with Garmin Express.
I have been able to update in the past. Yes, for the last 4 years, each year. I used these flash drives.

This morning, I decided to think outside the box. The directions clearly state use 16GB ONLY. Well….this is what I did. I copied the file from the Honda Clarity 16GB flash drive (one of the ones the Garmin Express would not select or work with) to a SanDisk 128GB microSD card that I just formatted for this test. Put it in my MacBook Pro M4, opened Garmin Express and boom, it accessed the 128GB drive right away and did the file download. I successfully loaded it into my Honda Clarity Navigation system. So, Garmin Express wasn’t happy the 16GB even though the file size was about 8.9GB after download. It worked perfectly with the 128GB flash drive. Maybe a good idea to update the web site, this could save someone a lot of grief. Have a wonderful day. Thank you so much for your help in my quest for an answer.

The Following is Needed to Perform the Map Update:

    The Honda Navigation System update requires a 16GB USB flash drive. Using a USB flash drive smaller or larger than 16GB can cause the map update process to be unsuccessful.

Just saw this. I have told posters from day one that the 16GB limit is not a logical restriction. I used 128GB iirc.
