front emblem was stolen

Sorry to hear this. In 1994 I bought a brand new civic, I drove it off the lot at night, parked in my car port and the following morning came out to see my brand new car for the first time in sunlight, and found that all of my emblems had been stolen.
 
Yes, I think it's held in just with friction clips. I don't know how hard you can remove them. But if you know the positions of the clips, you can certainly insert tools and remove them easily. You can find much cheaper ones from ebay. But I just feel those might be also coming from stolen emblems and don't want to reward them.
 
I started to wonder about the replacement cost, and realized that the emblem must be some special material that is transparent to 77 GHz and very homogenous, and perhaps even a dielectric lens. The service info doesn't say that radar aiming is required after replacing the emblem, so perhaps it isn't a lens?

A thin layer of plastic might work as a replacement (assuming it doesn't need to be a lens), just don't use metallic paint..... Perhaps use polystyrene or PTFE?

A Honda Pilot emblem is marked as >PC< AEPDS, meaning polycarbonate and polystyrene. Clarity is likely the same.
