Ford with Rivian investment now poised to pass Tesla in Market Cap

I think they was a great investment by Ford, and along with good earnings news is propelling Fords Market Cap back to striking distance of the struggling EV market leader Tesla.

Rivian with Ford and Amazon as investors is set to run, I am very excited for this company as it is well managed, and disciplined. Ford can teach Rivian how to manufacture at scale, and distribute their products, in the meantime Ford will get some much needed EV help.

Interesting. Ford moved into the void left when GM broke up with Rivian. Ford needs Rivan more than GM needs Rivian and Ford needs Rivian more than Rivian needs Ford (Rivian is also talking to VW, and will be attractive to other manufacturers in addition, especially given the Amazon alliance). I guess Ford had no choice, given that they have a smaller footprint in both EVs and in Autonomous driving, but to agree to non exclusive terms.

I think Ford is making some good moves, their gain is GM's loss. Ford is already working with VW on car based EV's, and now they are working with Rivian on truck based EV's. It's good news all around for the Blue Oval. Earnings looked pretty good too, staying in black ink while they restructure is good thing. GM earnings coming next week, and word on the street is expect strong earnings.
