Looking to install a trailer hitch on my 2020 Niro EV. Specifically, the Class II receiver (1.25" receiver size). I plan to mainly use it for holding a bike rack. I have looked at installation videos and there is a plastic aero shield that is installed under the rear bumper that has to be removed and modified if you want to re-install it when the hitch is in place. My question is: can I simply keep the aero shield off and how much should I expect that to impact range and efficiency? Anyone done this? I would prefer not to modify the shield because this is a leased vehicle and I don't want any blowback when I return it. Thoughts?
