First there was the MINI-E, then the F56 MINI Cooper SE followed by the US-denied J01 MINI Cooper SE. Oliver Heilmer, who oversaw the creation of the MINI Cooper SE, has moved on from MINI to MINI's parent company, BMW. He is now talking about a new electric BMW i1 hatchback with 322 horsepower and rear-wheel drive. There's no chance BMW will send the i1 to the US, but BMW is usually willing to share its technology with MINI.
Mr. Heilmer, BMW took the SE away from the US. Many happy SE owners (and even more potential customers) are pleading for its return!
