I would be careful about the edge protector use on any horizontal edge. Horizontal seams and edges such as the trunk or hatch edges are most susceptible to rusting because water tends to remain in those areas.

Almost all seams in body work such as those where plastic bumper assemblies meet the metal body are now made at an angle to encourage water to flow to the lowest level.

Just look at the rusting patterns on cars and light vehicles on the road for a few years. The first rust always shows up on horizontal bits - and the bottom of doors, trunk and hatches. That is where water and salt gets to do the most damage. Drainage is key prevent the earliest damage.

Coastal regions can see corrosion issues on horizontal surfaces like hoods and roofs where salt laden sea spray settles on surfaces. Again, washing, rinsing and drying is important.

Very nice. I’d probably pick those up too if I could find them. There’s a “door edge guard” category on their site but nothing in it if I filter to Mini Cooper.

That product is fitting skinny sheet metal on SE very snuggly no glue on it .On my Subaru I used heavier edging with glue on it and in hot weather glue is showing is a mess I hate it. Don’t buy any with glue .Bc sheet metal on SE is thinner should be right size to fit perfectly .

16’ high gloss

This product have a tiny speck of glue on inside top and other products have glue all over service inside I figured out is the best option in my opinion and is high gloss finish matching the rest and is a smallest size .Someone mention about rust could happen when you apply edging but I’m not worry I rust faster than a car being 71 years young
