Does lack of a volume knob bother you?

I agree it would be better to have the button that changes the source be the volume button. With time I have become used to the current arrangement.

This is the first car ever I've owned that has no mute button. All other cars either has it on steering wheel, on the head unit, or can power off the head unit. How am I suppose to turn off the sound immediately so others can hear me.
The only thing I found I hate this system so far.

It’s not a perfect solution, but You can press the off button on the audio system.

Took a bit to get used to but the volume control and source selection with the D-pad on the wheel have been fine for me - no need for knobs in my opinion.

It only took me a few days to get used to using the buttons on the steering wheel for the volume. Now it's second nature. On rare occasion, the wheel is turned and I want to change the volume and I am then looking for the controls on the wheel. ;)

Not an issue at all. Steering wheel has a physical button... for whatever reason, car reviewers always say this is a negative.

There is a mute button , press the volume button and then click mute on screen :p. This whole volume knob thing is a non issue for people who have been using steering wheel controls for the last 5 years .

Yes! My first car without a knob ever and I've been driving since the 70's. Maybe I'm just stuck in my ways. :) I did note that for the 2018 Accord unveiling, Honda went out of their way to say that they brought back the knob! The lack of a knob wasn't deal breaker but what were they thinking!

I came from a 2008 CR-V with both knob and steering wheel controls. I always found it easier and less distracting to use the steering wheel mounted controls than reach over for the knob on the dash. So it has been no problem at all for me not to have a knob, but it’s really a personal preference kind of thing.

After about a month I can say it really doesn't bother me much at all. I'm getting used to using the steering wheel for so much anyhow, it's really more convenient to have the volume too.

After reading and watching all the reviews of my Clarity (and other models with the same infotainment system), one issue comes up a lot and that's the lack of a volume knob. I find adjusting the volume fairly easy on the screen and if I need to, I use the volume control on the steering wheel, which is less distracting than using a volume knob on the center dash. The thing I find most annoying about the reviewers is their lack of consistency. They'll trash Honda's lack of a volume knob like it's a mortal sin (they make a big deal out of the its return on the Accord) and then they'll go on and on about how much they love Tesla's infotainment, which doesn't have a volume knob either!
Lack of physical volume knob doesn't bother me but the damn radio keep resetting itself and clear out all of your station so I skip the radio all together.

Thumbs down for Honda. I always look for improvement in the user experience and the removal of the physical volume knob is not one of them. It may look pretty but adds a negative functional value. I feel like I have remove my eyes from the road to find where on the screen is the volume bar and then do I keep my finger pressed on it?, do I double tap?, sometimes it doesn't sense my fingers.

I don’t have a knob on my phone or tablet, why do I need one in my car? It’s 2018, knobs are going away. Tesla sure doesn’t have knobs I’m sure.

It bothers me a little only because I'm used to having to adjust a knob and not having steering wheel controls. I'll instinctively reach over to adjust the volume sometimes and end up changing the station instead when my hand hits the screen. Same for the "gear" buttons. Sometimes I'll reach for a stalk like on my CRV and end up with the wipers on instead of putting the car in park.

Not real complaints though. More controls on the wheel instead of in the center is better.

Yes it's the one thing I really appreciate when I drive our 4Runner. I'm okay with the steering wheel volume control but hardly ever use the touch screen for volume.

In general I'd rather have more buttons. They don't move and they have a single function. I'm not ready for a full EV car which is one reason I wouldn't buy a Tesla. Another big reason I wouldn't want a Tesla is the large touch screen. I don't think it looks good and I certainly don't want to control almost everything from a touch screen.
