Before I settled for my new Clarity PHEV, I had been also looking at the RAV4 Prime. I couldn't swallow the RAV4's $5000 premium/markup over MSRP, not to mention the a number of dealer installed accessories I didn't want. However, there was one feature in the RAV4 I really liked, and that was the digital rear-view mirror, that used a camera installed in the top of the rear windshield and projected a high resolution, unobstructed rear-view on an LCD screen in place of a traditional rear-view mirror.

Has anybody come across a good option for a digital rear-view mirror for the Clarity?

Nice. Didn't know the RAV4 had this (the C8 Corvette does, and needs it). No answer to your question, but wondering when the DOT will allow digital wing mirrors (As the Honda e has)

(although thinking about it, the Corvette has a normal mirror that transforms, which may be the requirement of the DOT)

I am completely ignorant about this, but you got me curious.
Just search Amazon for 'digital rear view mirror' and you will find lots of choices.
Many of them include DashCam functionality.
As usual with this sort of thing, it is very hard to evaluate quality.

I have a mirror dashcam installed in my Clarity. It has both front and rear camera. The rear camera is mounted on the rear windshield. The display is shaped like the rearview mirror and go over the existing mirror. I could do a split screen, front or rear view on the display. It sound great when I first bought it. But 2 issues popped up after I start using it.

1. Since it is an active display, it bothered me a lot at night. The display keep shining into my eye even when I have it set to the dimming setting. It would be ok if you drive in city a lot where you have lots of street night.

2. You will lose the dimming function of the oem rearview mirror. So the out-of-aim headlights from cars behind you will blind you at night.
