Delivery Times for 2019 Canada

This is the norm for Hyundai , 7 - 8 month wait. But at least there is a chance of a cancellation...you never know!

Yeah, I didn't know how lucky I was to get mine when I did (May 1),... until after I was on this forum. Sure glad I acted quickly when I found out the effective date of the fed subsidy. I had a sneaking suspicion they would sell out quickly after that.

I suspect the wait time may actually improve in the near future. When I was talking to my sales contact he noted that a couple other customers were also getting there cars sooner than expected(pfft, 7 months instead of 9... sarcastic wow!). I also see that Kona's global sales numbers for September are up to around 4700, that seems like a 60% increase over their previous monthly averages. I know you can't make much of a single month's sales data but if its sustained it may imply their production capacity is finally improving.
 
I just got a call today that my white ultimate is in at hyundai in poco. I canceled, so if anyone is looking for one.

Well, I ordered in May and I was told September. I was hounding them and hounding them and didn't hear anything and was told "soon." I became frustrated.. I needed a car and I started doing research.

I was hesitant on Tesla's but my other half has a Tesla M3 and I started to like it .

So I did a heck of a lot of research and found a great deal on a used model X.

It came down to:

Availability
SIZE!!
updates
Battery composition

Kona is still nice but because I had the time to do the research, it came to the above points that made me purchase the X.
 
Just got the call our preferred has arrived at the dealer.

We ordered in mid May. They said it will be a 2020 model. I called earlier this week and they had expected it to be here around Christmas, not sure why we got the surprise miracle 2 days later!?

We will be picking it up early next week, almost there!

Black preferred. Ordered in Ottawa on May 14.

Congratulations same thing happened in my case was looking at a demo version. Then couple days later I get a call vehicle is in. Dealer had no clue it coming. Good to hear, you will love it!!!

Wonderful news, always delighted to hear about early deliveries. Make sure to post a picture of your new Kona:)
 
I am in the Niagara Region in Ontario. I placed an order to the Kona Electric with the dealer in St. Catharines on November 8th. I followed up with my dealer today to see if they have heard back and he is showing a build date of March 3rd resulting in a delivery date of mid April. He also stated in his email back to me to not take this as Gospel as Hyundai has been ahead of scheduled for many EV orders and they don't tell the dealership until the car lands in Canada. Hopefully he's right as mid April seems far too long.
 
The reason you got the early "surprise" is because Hyundai is terrible at communicating to both it's customers and it's dealerships and has a haphazard and frankly useless inventory system. And apparently it's never going to improve.

Congrats, very exciting.

Meanwhile you would think the preferred Kona I ordered the day before yours would be on the same ship. I am hearing crickets from my dealer, what the heck.
 
Apparently, my Kona is a on a train bound for Manitoba, they still anticipate late December delivery, ugh!

Darcchipmunk I eagerly await news of your delivery as it means mine can't be too far behind.

Hi Apu,

We had received similar information about 2 weeks prior with a tentative Christmas delivery. The actual call was totally unexpected. Hopefully yours arrives in the next week or two (the Ottawa cars get put on a train to Montreal then driven to Ottawa).

We go to pick it up tonight.
