Did you by chance get a production number with your update? I think that’s the key. When you have a production number that’s when things really gets started! My dealer had an open slot and gave me their allotment that already had a production number when I ordered. It all could have been a happy coincidence though.

All that rushing to get built and it is now just getting to the U.S. with hopefully a 2021 delivery date to me.

Not holding my breath but that is awesome that it worked out for you that way! I will say that the dealership had told me that production wouldn't start till the first week of January but it was bumped up a bit. I do have a production # and I keep checking it but it is on "scheduled for production" as of now. LOL I just keep reading stories of everyone's deliveries and get angsty. I wish I would've ordered it sooner but I did not know I had options of getting out my lease sooner.

Not to put damper on your hope but mine didn’t although I’d a production number when I ordered in mid September. Production began as they stated, week 46, and it seems it takes couple weeks at least to complete, mine in the paint booth at the moment. It would be miracle if car shows up before end of the year.

Apparently, it needs to go through an "inspection", and the service department is closed today and tomorrow, so I have to wait until Monday to pick it up after work. Torture!

Wow, you weren't kidding--even black beltline trim! No black MINI is complete without it IMHO. Did the dealer install that trim?

Have a great drive home! Will you take the highway?
 
Nope. Mine is still in transit. It should go back to at port then in transit again once it’s on a truck to the dealer.
 
I admit I rolled my eyes a little at all the ship-tracking talk. Now I have multiple tabs open with the next five NY-bound Ro/Ros located. Three or four minis on the spreadsheet are sitting at the port also waiting for NY. Will they be on Tiger later today? Grand sapphire tomorrow? Lapis arrow?? Bess?? Time to eat crow! :rolleyes::)

I did the same thing!! It was a let down every time. THEN IT HAPPENED.

I've learned so much more about global shipping than I've ever wanted to know.

Mine is also waiting to hop on a boat to NYC.

I'm waiting for NY right there with you! How did you track down the schedule of ro/ro's, if you don't mind me asking? I might have to hop on this bandwagon with you.

I am (perhaps literally) in the same boat. My SE was built in 4 days, and is now on its way to Southampton to ship to CA.

I’m also hopeful for delivery by 12/31, but it is a long shot.

Please be aware that in the Build Back Better bill that was approved by the House and is on its way to the Senate, the federal tax credit for EVs with less than 40 kWH (such as our Mini SE) is only $4000 instead of $7500. If passed, taking delivery of the car in 2022 will cost up to $3500 more in lost tax credit.

if this concerns you, I urge you to write your senator(s) asking them to oppose this limitation.

Same here! Dying from anticipation of production completion and onward voyage to NYC.

How long does it really take for production to complete? Mine is in paint booth since Thursday.

Southampton estimated departures schedule for the next few days:

WWO lines ship tracking (K lines also apparently common, but WWO is the only one I could find with ships bound for NY in the next week)

Once you find a potential ship, you can track it with marinetraffic.com. Here is a link to Grand Sapphire the next NY bound 'Ro/Ro' (roll-on/roll-off) car carrier from Southampton.

Hopefully ours get on the boat tomorrow. There’s one leaving from south Hampton to CA tomorrow 11/30 and arrive 12/23 … If not then it’s Jan….

I do hope for 12/31 because of the tax credit. Good recommendation. I will look into it.

It's a factory option, I have "ZWB / Piano Black Waistline Trim" on the build sheet. This was someone else's design that was orphaned but I'm excited about it.

ABRP is sending me up I-5 with five charges along the way. I'm going to do an overnight stop too. Highway 1 would be fun but I can't get ABRP or PlugShare to give me a route... maybe I'm doing it wrong.
