I kept myself busy and didn't look at my order confirmation for 2 weeks. What a pleasant surprise to check the paperwork and plug in the number today, for the first time...and it went from paint booth to assembly line today! How fun to see 3 different statuses in one day! I filled in what I could on the spreadsheet.

Haha. Oh, I'm plenty busy but it is simply too tempting to track the status. It is pretty cool to see this much detail.

I noticed that 3 of us from the US had British Racing Green paint/assembly all started on 7/20/21. I think it was green day in at least one part of the factory!

Perhaps but mine still has not advanced beyond assembly. As far as I know, No Paint for me.

Just learned from my dealer that the plant in Oxford is planning a 2 week maintenance shut down. Might explain why my projected completion date went from 7/13 to 7/15 with the live person on the ask-MINI line telling my it might not start production until 7/28. It has been showing as in the production queue since 6/29.

My vehicle has been stuck at "Awaiting Carrier Assignment" since last week. Don't know if it is related, but a search on "Plant Oxford shut down" led me to this:

That would explain why mine's been in the paint booth for three days straight.

I called Ask-Mini. I was told my Mini is still in the "Body Shop" with a new expected completion date of September 1. Oh boy. The agent said he knew nothing about the plant being closed July 21-23.

Based on all the details in the tracker it seems the cars usually take 2 days and at the most 4 days to finish build through "Final Assembly". So an expected completion date that far out seems to indicate a lengthy stoppage.

When I search "Plant Oxford shut down", I get no results like what MarkFB posted. MarkFB's image seems to have been captured before a decision was made on closing the plant for the week of July 26.

Commencing the serious waiting game I suppose (much to my chagrin).

My status changed this morning to “Dispatched from Factory” so maybe the shut down did not extend to this week.

On the MINI Together event video over the weekend, MINI USA VP Mike Peyton said there was no SE inventory until fourth quarter. :(

It sounded more like MINI has way more orders than they can build as opposed to shutdown issues. Although there are ongoing part shortages.

Awesome news MarkFB! Your car is moving and BUILT. I'd feel so much better to if mine could just advance a few more steps.

This is very informative, thanks Puppethead.

Just got notified by the My MINI Garage website that my car is at the dealership. If they tell me it’s not ready to go yet, I’m tempted to drive down there anyway just so I can look at it and touch it and see that it’s actually real. Plus I’m really curious to see if I got the harman kardon sound system.

I would have driven 40 miles, maybe not 50 miles, yeah, 50 miles, to see my new MINI Cooper SE (it showed up 51 weeks after I ordered it months before production began and months before the factory's long pandemic shut-down). Good luck with the h/k!

The dealer sent me a couple of pics . . .

By the way, he said I was one of the very last people to get the harman kardon sound system. Sounds like I just barely squeaked through. It was sent without an amplifier, but they sourced one locally and installed it at the docks.
