Sorry to hear about that. I changed my order a few times in the early stages without issue. Including the trim. Had originally went with Electric, but realized it still had piano black on the doors, so I switched to aluminum without issue.
I also changed my order a couple times as the configuration was done before the 2023 configurator was out. Initially, I had a piano black dash, then changed it to chequered, the next change was the headliner, I assumed Iconic had the anthracite headliner but then the option came up to select it. I also had the waistline trim changed to black. Mine is still waiting at the port but it flew through assembly in a day, it also has the cross punch leather.

yeah - agreed - when I ordered the configurator was not up for 23 and my MA said for SE+ piano black was the only option. When I asked about itr later, he indicated I'd have to cancel and start over - felt a little lazy to me but I was already too far in to go back....I was also a lot more naive back then....

Yeah, as long as it's before you hit production status 150, "Scheduled for production", when the build is locked, there should be no problem making changes. Definitely sounds like laziness, maybe they thought if you made one change, you might make more changes, creating "too much" work for them.

So my Mini's status changed today from "In Port" to "In Transit." On the ship at last! Interestingly, even though I live in Virginia, the build sheet from my dealer showed the car coming into New York, not Baltimore. If that's still correct, then my car is probably on the WW ship Treasure: RoRo vessel schedules and routes - Wallenius Wilhelmsen A Southampton departure of 5/16 with an update to MyGarage by 5/19 seems about right.

Which dealership in VA? My build sheet from Alexandria Mini did briefly say NYC (it had been BALPOA, switched to NYC at some point, then back to BALPOA).

You can call ASK MINI (866-ASK-MINI) to confirm the ship as well.

I think that is the case - to be fair I have bought from this dealership before and they have ALWAYS done me right - but, man, this felt like my MA literally did nothing to earn the commission. Not begrudging him at all and, at the end of the day I realized I could have pushed it if it had really mattered to me - to be honest I wanted the leather seats because of my dog and the only other thing I really cared about was getting the HK stereo (even though I know from experience, it's not all that impressive).

Crown Mini in Richmond. I'll probably call the toll-free number. I'm communicating with my MA by email mostly, and he doesn't seem as savvy about all the details as this esteemed group right here. ;)

When did your car arrive at the UK port? Mine arrived on 5/13/2022, still haven't gotten an update with respect to "IN TRANSIT" or otherwise. I'm going to give it about a week longer before I worry too much. I'm leaving the country from 5/29 to 6/9 for vacation, regardless. Just hoping it gets in (Mini of Alexandria, Port of Baltimore) soon after I get back in mid-June!

Dumb but honest question - what time of day do you stop constantly refreshing My Garage and give up for the day? Anyone know the shift schedules at the plant? I'm on central time.

In the normal course of events the plant runs 24/7, so could happen at any time. My car changed status yesterday to "assembly in progress" at 03:30am local time at the factory - though who knows how much lag time there is in the system providing the status updates.

Mine showed "Dispatched from Factory" on 5/9, "Arrived at Port" on 5/11. Which shouldn't take 2 days, so it may have arrived earlier, right?

WW's schedule shows the Thalatta departing Southampton on 5/20, arriving Baltimore 5/29. Shipfinder.com shows her loading in Southampton today. So fingers crossed for you!

Did my weekly call-in to my MA. No change, no production date. :| Sent me today's screen shot and said “it’s still the same” but there must be another screen with more info, no? Does anybody here know more about their system?

I think mygarage app of mini should have a push Apple notification when the status changes...

This constant checking for the status changes by many of us here, causes unnecessary traffic on their website...

No roof rails here.....and I get the statement about them fixing things in QC, just frustrating to watch the days tick by when I could be waiting at port, or at sea. When we get to that point, I may ask for help from someone who has been paying more attention to help me identify shipping estimates to Galveston and then to Austin. I am guessing delivery will likely coincide with my first work trip in 2.5 years...(June 21-24).

I'm also interested in transit time to Texas. Mine's going to Houston and has been "at the port" since 5/10. Apparently, not all ships dock in Galveston and I may be waiting for the odd one that does.

I almost purchased through Crown Mini since they're technically closer to me, but I was a bit put off by their initial "requirement" of some dealer-added stuff (they gave in after some push-back, but I had already decided to order through Alexandria). It also didn't seem like they did as many SE orders as Alexandria.

Hopefully it all goes smoothly for you though, and your Mini has a quick trip to the dealer!

Raise your hand if you've been stuck in QC all week.....
