Has anybody actually read this new article making the rounds? It has a very sensationalist opening, but you must be a subscriber to read beyond that. I think the Autocar article is much more level-headed...
I’d like this to be expanded upon, perhaps in an OT area of the forum. How is the government abridging the speech of any (American) members here?First Amendment
Unlikely for 23 MY. 24 MY for late 2023 I’d guess for Chinese built cars which will be almost entirely new. Based on owning other BMWs they will run production until 05 or 06/23 for SE in Oxford. With Chinese units arriving in fallHere's to hoping that my Mini, slated to arrive in March, doesn't slip into a Mini produced in China.
It'll be interesting to see if MINI actually survives the Chinese market.

The issue seems to be the massive import tariffs for the US market. Not sure I’d pay more for a Chinese mini. I would pay for an MG though as it would be cheaper and a better packageI like to point out iPhones are (currently) made in China. There's nothing wrong with the manufacturing capabilities, it's all about the standards of the company. But there are certainly non-technical issues with buying Chinese goods.
I have no idea, but for the OT area things got dicey with the bible quoting. I also contemplated posting the Old Greek and Hebrew versions and maybe the Quran for extra fun.I’d like this to be expanded upon, perhaps in an OT area of the forum. Although the iPhone 14 is transitioning to the India factory, Foxconn is Taiwanese and I am sure we are all excited about their upcoming "made in America" electric vehicles!I like to point out iPhones are (currently) made in China

The new brand is Foxtron, but the vehicles look more Robocop than Tron (Legacy). Such a disappointment!Don't forget that Foxconn was supposed to build a factory in Wisconsin, and all they did was drive out property owners. They "conned" Wisconsin big time.
