This is a fun contest and all, but those of us who only charge on level 1 are at a bit of a disadvantage, because racking up 100+ miles means having to recharge for a long time.

Be warned, though: I'm going out-of-town next week, so have the opportunity to participate. Over/under on 180+ miles? (160+ is easy-peasy, 170+ is easily reachable if I try).

43 miles done, 23% of battery pack used (starting from 89%, so no "bonus" for starting from "100%") = 187 miles projected.

However, I forgot that we're heading into a 3 day weekend during which I have nowhere to go, then I'm gone for a week, so may not be able to complete the challenge.

Remember when you were a kid with a brand new drivers license? What would that kid say about your plight after finding out you now own the most fun-to-drive electric car--and you don't even need gas money?
Aye, but the only girl I want to see lives in the same house, so I have no reason to leave. Plus, almost all the roads around me are flat, straight, and boring. Thus, not much appeal to driving for driving's sake.

Flat roads are an advantage in this compeition. See the photo of "Heartbreak Ridge" in my post about Honda Insight hypermilers who stretched a tankful of gas to a distance of 2,254.4 miles. Boring, however, goes with any hypermiling competition. These Insight drivers averaged just 18 mph over that distance!

Not even a roundabout? Those are fun to go completely around in the SE.
One right next to my neighborhood, in fact - should I just go do laps? Is that legal? What about tire wear?

Update: 86 miles covered, 50% of battery used. Car will now likely sit until first week of June.

Well, take the scenic route to visit her. Or, maybe even take her out?

I'll set a nice, low bar for y'all.
I drove round on my mega-grip new tyres for nearly a week. Driving slowly, I could only manage 90miles of range. No pics of that, but that's what the maths said! Yeah, not really ideal for trips. Today, I am 200 miles from home about to attend a Porsche autocross event, (muahahaha). I put the OE 16" 'kooks on, stuffed the stickies in the back and put my Jetson on a bike rack hanging from one roof bar. Much, much better, one stop on the way. Cruise was mostly set at 70 to first stop, 60 after. Didn't see much change in mi/kWh. Got to the motel with 27%. My midway stop, I charged to 90%. So 200miles with 151% charge. 132miles range. Almost a 50% improvement on a nearly empty car on the sticky tyres...

Could everyone note what tyres they have on?

My tires are the stock 17" Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 (non runflat) summer tire.
First set, or have they been replaced? Mine are still the originals. Maybe halfway to the wear bars at 27k. She wears Nokian wr-g4 about 5 months of the year.

I'm on the Firehawk Indy 500s. I'm only getting 4.x mi/kwh at best. Sport mode always.

Did you tell us which stickys you're using?

Second set, I've got over 84,000 miles on my SE. I drive on 16" Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 for winter, about 5 months per year. On my third set of those.

I have a new target for you guys.
3.4 miles (from someone with stock sized tyres) 17% battery. I make that a range of 20 miles. Damn, I was hoping to get under 20. Maybe next time. I did turn my front rotors blue, which looks great inside the gold wheels.
Tyres are Nankang CR-S 225/45-15 front, Yokohama A052 205/50-15 rear. Best tyres yet for a mileage record

Ending charge: 1%

Distance covered: 161
% of battery used: 99%

Theoretical maximum range: 163

Conditions: Flat roads, mix of state highway, interstate, and surface streets, average speed approximately 30 mph, always in Sport mode but gentle on the accelerator (usually less than ~1/3rd of power from stop), no A/C, P7s at factory recommended pressures.PXL_20240617_202248342.webp

I could have stretched things further if not for today's heat, which led me to use a bit more energy than usual.
