Charging Stations and Tesla’s in North America

I understand that the Tesla’s in North America have a specialty plug that works with their chargers and super chargers. I read that you can buy a Chademo adapter. What about other non-Tesla level 2/destination chargers, is there an adapter for a Tesla?
