Cadillac Lyriq Reservations Open September 18: Check in!

The Cadillac Lyriq order book opens on September 18th and you can grab your place in line for a production vehicle which should start arriving -- on schedule -- in early 2022.

The Lyriq will be GM's 2nd Ultium-based vehicle and more representative of the majority of electric vehicles coming, eventually, to Chevrolet and Buick -- the Hummer EV is the first -- so there's lots of interest in it generally.

If you plan on placing an order, let us know below. Maybe if we get enough preorder people here, we can do some some of reservation number calculator.

Last week we learned the date you could pre-order your Lyriq. Now, we have an exact time: Starting at 4 p.m. EDT/1 p.m. PDT.

The starting price in this latest update is given as $58,795 (excluding destination and other fees), which aligns with the original $59,990 (destination charges included). An $1,105 difference. Cadillac's destination charges are given as either $1,195 or $995, depending on the model.

At 4:00.15 PM the message was "no dealer available", at 4:02 PM the above message appeared. No new orders now until mid 2022. Wow.
 
Don't worry about missing this. Just like Ionic 5 "reservations", it simply guarantees you a place in line to get fleeced by the dealer--NOT like Tesla, Not like ID.4!

Reservations closed 19 minutes after they opened. o_O

Why bother even having it available? Yeah, I know. But, that was only because of the limited quantity of the Limited Edition.

Still, a bit of a fiasco, imo.

Yeah, I heard there were a number of glitches with the process as well. It seems like the number of vehicles available may of been quite limited. We have a story out about it being sold out in ten minutes. If it was a lot of vehicles, say, 25,000, I think Cadillac would have been more transparent about the number of debut editions.
Also, not opening up more reservations until mid-22 seems...not great.
