Is your wife ok driving the car after its misbehavior and the dealer finding nothing repairable? Probably completely and totally unrelated, but nonetheless interesting... a friend of mine with a leaf described similar behavior with his Nissan Leaf brakes. Looking into it he said there was a recall that might be his culprit.

Pretty sure he also said the brake pedal went nearly to the floor...
Here's another interesting post for a leaf...

Could you post back after enough driving time to let us know what if any differences you noticed after the update? And why did they not do the 18-097 sensitivity to charging fluctuations update?
I really want to know since my car acts so perfectly that I have been reluctant to get the updates except for the HV range. We’ll consider it your Christmas present to us all.
Merry Christmas!!

I also was leery of doing the updates and did so now simply as a matter of convenience. I’ll report back with an update of the updates. I have no idea why they didn’t do the 18-097 update. We don’t charge at public chargers and have never experienced a problem at home.

In a word, no. However, she’s willing to do so for now.
