BMW brought auto journalists to the frozen lakes of Arjeplog, Sweden, the site of the company's cold-weather proving grounds, where they drove camouflaged 2027 BMW i3 sedans. Today was the appointed day for BMW to lift the embargo on the reports by those journalists. Here are my three favorite YouTube reports:
This last one I have queued to when the BMW engineers are riding with the journalist. Don't be alarmed when the video's split screen makes the interior look smaller than a VW Beetle. These engineers are excited about the new i3. You can rewind to the start of the long, enthusiastic report easily.
Here's the Car and Driver report: 2027 BMW i3 Prototype Drive: Mule Gauge
This 463-horsepower, 4wd, i3 50 xDrive sedan is so different from the original BMW i3 that it will need its own forum. My suggestion for the distinguishing forum name is "Neue Klasse BMW i3."
