My sound also got really flat and a bit shrill after the software update the other day, so after break-in I'll be playing with BimmerCode a bit to see if they didn't somehow reset something. I'd also like to try some of the other car profiles in expert mode (opinions are split between F45 and F39).

Interesting. The flat part makes sense if the EQ is reset to 0 Treble 0 Bass. I'm currently using -1 Treble and +4 Bass.

As for the shrill part, it may depend on your audio source. I mean, you could be that Rivian driver that has a revelation over bluetooth phone streaming vs Apple Music integration OTA update.

lol no that's not me. But yeah I'm fiddling with settings even before the new speakers are bedded. I boosted bass to +3 or +4 and played dynamic (and fairly bass-forward) music at >75% gain for a five hour drive today, so I'm a good part of the way through break-in. They're still a bit muddy and not open, but changing noticeably. I'll bring some FLACs to the car after I think they're ready, and then play with the different EQs, but honestly I don't think the HKs are good enough to resolve the differences between wireless 16/44.1 and 24/192 or other high-res.

I did try F45 on the way home, though. Hah. Yeah the Ghosts aren't ready yet.
