We are all very excited about Rivian coming to Australia, BUT there are two key questions that need to be answered:

1. How will it be distributed? [are there dealership agreements in the offing?]
2. How will they be maintained?

Their whole sales and service strategy is an interesting hybrid of other company's. Rivian plans to sell direct, mainly over the internet. Though, it will operate some “brand experience centers” where you can check out and buy vehicles. Those don't-call-it-a-store(s) will be unlike a traditional dealership (and probably quite different from Tesla stores in that they won't be in malls). Service, they say, will be carried out at dealerships of other brands, which is sort of odd. It will be interesting to see how that work but apparently they've gotten some amount of interest from dealers for this.
