Poor Ben did not know what to think about the Glass Roof Cracking. I was worried he was going to cry...
Seems to be related to sunroofs getting larger and larger.
On a recommendation, I bought a hydrophobic, cure to plastic coating for our BMW i3-REx. They report it makes an air and water tight surface so impacts don't form radiating cracks. I don't have a way to test it but after two years, it still repels water. You'd think someone would invent a coating for a plastic windshield hard enough (scratch-resistant enough) to allow plastic to replace the heavy and expensive glass that's used. Plastic, being more... well, plastic... shouldn't crack nearly as often, and would be cheaper to replace when it does.
And still, I love the car...drive like dream...
