Android Auto Waze now shows directions in the centre display.

Public service announcement. Previously only Google maps seemed to show you directions in the front driver info screen. The last few days I've noticed Waze now also does this as well. Did anyone else notice this update to the app?

Am I right to guess you're talking about an iPhone? I think my Pixel has been supporting this since I got the car.

For me Waze has always displayed in the center display. But it seems to run behind the main display - sometimes a turn or two behind. The main display correctly tells me how far to the next turn, the on in the center display is off by a long ways. Is your center display correct?
 
I don't know if it was my Samsung s8 phone but Waze would not display there but Google maps would . Maybe it was an issue with my phone . I will check the accuracy next time .
 
Does any map app can show next road name?
I'm not using Android auto because of this, but I still like Android auto
