android auto texting problem

Hi I have changed cell phone providers 3 times since getting my Clarity Touring in spring 2018.
this last time a strange problem has come up - I cannot SEND a text - receives ok but message comes up that 'can't send - try again later' multiple attempts in different locations gives same message. Turn OFF car and cellphone texts are sent just fine. Weird. Hope someone has an idea! (the cellphone is the same as I used with last provider with no problem.)

PS Canadian Cell phone provider Freedom Mobile using either their network or Rogers.
 
If anyone else has/had a similar problem; the issue is "RCS" encryption of text messages. In my case if it is turned on, I cannot send a text through Android Auto. My simple fix is to turn off RCS.. Possibly removing Android Auto from my phone and the car might fix it - but wasn't worth the effort to me.
