I've always thought it's an ideal sound, since it's so well suited for the Doppler shift (effect).

My older 500e had an aftermarket module to do this. It was pretty janky but I did learn how hard it is to create a perfect Jetsons car loop, near impossible without recreating it from scratch. The speaker was also specifically tuned for the factory sound so most custom sounds came across poorly.
