Do you remember the sequence of actions that you did to trigger the horn?
Sadly not really. It involved a clumsy lock/unlock/open sequence all jumbled together, my hands were full and I didn't mean to lock the door. And I think the car was still "on" even though I wasn't in the car. Very possibly I had the seatbelt defeated (connected) as well. Maybe I can try to recreate it.

Annoying when you expect it to be included, right? I’d check with your dealer to see if they can add one later or suggest a decent aftermarket system that won’t mess with the car’s wiring.

The problem won't be installing the modules, those are easy. The problem is that the cars' wire harness will not have the required wiring to hook it all up. Retrofitting the needed wiring can be a big undertaking. I know that from experience as I did it on my R55 and it was an ordeal even with an official retrofit kit and instructions from Mini.

The question is: was the delete due to a shortage of modules? Or of harnesses? I thought it was the latter, as they were sourced from Ukraine.

As some owners worry a Mini could be stolen without alarm I would love to quote someone statement how easy is to steal Mini Cooper .All one has to do is pick it up and put in one’s pocket or install this IMG_1845.webp

Honestly, I’ve had mixed feelings about alarms—some are more hassle than they’re worth. For home stuff, I use Vivint, and their setup is solid, so maybe they’ve got something that works for cars too.
