Aftermarket TPMS Sensors

So my winter tires are installed, but they said my car was too new and they are unable to program the TPMS as their system didn’t have 2023 cars in it. Told me to come back in 6 months and check if they have had an update on their system. Is there a “work around”, such as using Cooper S 2020 or earlier for programming? I don’t think I can handle the warnings for 6 months!
 
They should be able to clone your OE sensors. I’ll verify mine when I install my winter wheels next week — it’s still way above seasonable here, we hit 25° yesterday, with an overnight low of 17° this morning!

Thanks, how do they clone them?
 
Program them? Meaning the frequency? MINI has used the same frequency for at least a decade, they should be the same frequency as any MINI 2010 or newer (I had a 2008 Clubman that used the old frequency). For "programming" you use the SE to do a TPMS reset and it will set everything up after driving for a mile or two.

And this right here is what I didn’t want to deal with with non-OE sensors even though I would have saved $$. Sorry to hear you are having issues. Sounds like others have been successful so hopefully it can get sorted sooner the 6 months from now.
 
I just put VDO-Continental se10008 Redi-sensors on my winter wheels. I think they were $120 taxed and delivered for the set. Initially, I had trouble syncing them. Fixed after going back to the tyre place and they reset them, then they synced by halfway home. I suspect they initially missed a couple as I went in 15 minutes before closing time...
I had bought these when the question was asked, but hadn't mounted them, so didn't comment.
VDO are OES for mini, though the Redi-sensors are an aftermarket product.

the car is mechanically identical to a 2021 and 2022 SE. Ask them to set it up for a 2022.

All is well :)

I went back and told them to do as you suggested and they tried with their programmer and dongle but it read the VIN and said “this is a 2023 and it can’t be done “.

Fortunately the guy knew what to do and set them manually as a 2022, and by the time I got home they were working properly!
